Message from the Principal

Mr. Jacob Stein 

Mr. Stein began his career in education 20 years ago as an emotional behavior specialist at Eustis Middle School. According to Payne Ray with the Daily Commercial, “Stein’s years working with students who needed extra support created a foundation for his administrative work that his mentors helped him build upon when he became an assistant principal.”

His journey as an administrator began at Windy Hill Middle School and shortly thereafter, he moved to East Ridge High School under the tutelage of Julie Robinson-Lueallen.  One of Stein’s major accomplishments as principal at Mt. Dora Middle, was bringing absenteeism from 33 percent to 10 percent.  He also values inclusion and creating a welcoming environment.  

Mr. Stein became the principal of Tavares High School in 2019 and continues to put students first.
