Kindergarteners have officially graduated to checking out books following their Elephant and Piggie Party (Mo Willems)! 🎓📖 We also celebrated the Olympic spirit, learned about Hispanic Heritage Month, and even put on our detective hats to find hidden books in the library 🔍. A big thank you to Principal Werner and the PTO for our new student rocking chairs, making the library even more inviting for all our students! 🪑✨

🎉📚 We had a special visitor Friday! Author Taryn Souders, the creative mind behind "Larry's Christmas Cat-Astrophe (Not Really)", visited our PreK-2nd grade students to share the fascinating process of illustrating a book before it’s published! ✍️🎨 The kids loved learning how illustrations come to life and how much work goes into making a story come true. Thank you, Taryn, for inspiring our young readers and future illustrators! 🌟📖

Author Visit coming soon with Taryn Souders! You can purchase her latest book, "Larry's Christmas Cat-Astrophe!" autographed for $11. A flyer went home Friday about the event for PreK-2nd grade students. We hope to see all students with their own autographed copy before she visits on December 19th! Thank you for supporting TES efforts in engagement in literacy!
We are looking for businesses / individuals to sponsor a tree in our “Celebrating the Holidays through the Festival of Trees”. We would love for you to come out to TES on Saturday, November 23rd with your tree and decorations to decorate it in a theme of your choice. Think of the reactions the children will have on their faces when they return to school after Thanksgiving break!!! The trees will be left up through the month of December with your company name on it. YES ….. even through our Light Up TES on December 13th! The trees will be outside, but under covering. If you are interested in doing this, please call Tavares Elementary (352.343.2861) and speak to Laurie Saputo. We will add you to our list and make sure that we have a tag with your name for your tree! Happy Holidays!
