Tropical Storm Helene is expected to hit Florida as a major hurricane with a possibility of strong wind gusts, tornadoes and localized flooding in our area on Thursday, Sept. 26. As advised by Lake County Florida Emergency Management, Lake County schools and district offices will be closed on Thursday. After-school activities on Wednesday, Sept. 25, will continue as planned. We will continue to monitor the storm. Tomorrow, after a mid-day briefing, we will determine a plan for schools for Friday, Sept. 27.
